Our UK subsidiary has 300+ team members whom are based in Rickmansworth, on the outskirts of London.
Job Purpose
The Chief Commercial Officer (CComO) is responsible for leading Mobilize Financial Services UK’s commercial strategy, driving sustainable growth across all channels, and ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations. This includes oversight of Select Lease by Mobilize (SLbM) and new channel expansion initiatives, leveraging the Mobilize ecosystem to deliver innovative mobility and financial solutions.
The Chief Commercial Officer is also required to fulfil the responsibilities of a Senior Manager Function (SMF) under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR), in accordance with the associated Statement of Responsibilities (SoR). Where multiple SMF roles are held, ensure clarity and accountability across all designated responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
SM&CR Responsibilities:
- Comply with the company’s SM&CR requirements, including timely completion of mandatory training, Adherence to all company policies and procedures. and participation in the annual attestation process.
- Collaborate with the People and Compliance teams to provide required documentation (e.g., job descriptions, CVs, regulatory references, fit and proper evidence).
- Adhere to the SM&CR framework, including FCA/PRA Conduct Rules and Senior Manager Conduct Rules.
- Ensure a comprehensive handover document is prepared for all absences (temporary or permanent) longer than three working days, clearly outlining key responsibilities, ongoing tasks, and associated risks. This also applies to leavers, where a full handover plan including identification of key risks shared and must be documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Embed Consumer Duty requirements and responsibilities into day-to-day practices, ensuring alignment with the expectations and standards set by the FCA and PRA.
- Document any delegated tasks to ensure accountability and transparency.
- Act as a Material Risk Taker (MRT) under the regulatory framework, with decision-making authority that significantly impacts the firm’s risk profile. Ensure alignment with remuneration and governance requirements applicable to MRTs.
Individual Responsibilities
- Define and implement the commercial roadmap for MFS UK, ensuring profitable growth.
- Oversight of SLbM operations, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including mobility solutions and EV infrastructure funding.
- Embed Consumer Duty requirements and ensure delivery of good customer outcomes.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate key risks within the remit of the role.
- Act as Chair or member of key committees: SLBMCo (Chair), ExCom, ERC, MarComCo.
- Represent MFS UK at UK Board and HQ level, acting as CEO delegate for commercial matters.
- Ensure adherence to SMCR obligations and maintain clear accountability for delegated responsibilities.
- Oversight of credit brokers acting on behalf of RCI: Responsible for monitoring dealer performance, conduct, and adherence to regulatory rules
- Design & manufacture of products intended for wholesale customers: Responsible for the design, development, and lifecycle management of financial products for wholesale customers (dealers), ensuring compliance and good outcomes.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate key risks within the remit of the role.
- Ensure adherence to relevant risk management policies and procedures.
- Escalate issues and report risks appropriately.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with OEMs, dealer networks, and strategic partners to strengthen relationships and secure new opportunities.
- Represent Mobilize Financial Services UK at UK Board and HQ level, presenting robust business cases for new initiatives.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and inspire the commercial team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and compliance.
- Act as a point of delegation for CEO when required on commercial matters.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- Extensive motor industry knowledge, ideally with captive and independent finance experience.
- Proven track record in commercial leadership and strategic growth.
- Experience with OEMs, dealer networks, and mobility solutions.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Expertise in risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mobilize teams at all levels.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
