** SEARCH CONCLUDED ** INDEPENDENT CHAIR - BASKETBALL ENGLAND

Basketball is the second biggest team sport in England. As a community we are more than basketball. We have a rich and diverse culture like no other sport. Its value to local communities and power to change lives is immense. Basketball England (as the national governing body) has been developing new conditions for the sport in collaboration with its members and wider stakeholders to bring basketball to the forefront of the nation. We are poised to play a greater part in society, share the joy and excitement of basketball and engage more young people of all backgrounds and abilities to take the sport forward in a rapidly changing society.

In 2018 we launched our 6-year strategic plan (HERE) underpinned by a research and development period to create a direction for the sport and the wider interests in basketball. Our focus is on growth and providing accessible quality opportunities at all levels in the game. We will use the power of basketball to accelerate this and gather more support to help resource the growth and innovation we have planned for. People and their passion for the game is at the heart of our player led approach to make things happen and make basketball infectious.
